Clary Clish is Senior Director of Metabolomics and an Institute Scientist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His lab works to develop and apply technologies for the systematic analysis of metabolites and small molecules within biological specimens. His research is highly collaborative and broadly aims to advance our understanding of the role of metabolism in normal physiology and disease. He held senior and executive management positions in the biotechnology industry from 2001-2008 and was a postdoctoral fellow and instructor in the laboratory of Dr. Charles Serhan at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School from 1997-2001.

Dr. Cristina Razquin is a researcher in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Navarra and an investigator within the CIBEROBN network. Her research focuses on identifying early biomarkers of chronic diseases and lifestyle determinants that enable their early prediction and prevention. She leads the project “Development of a new predictive model for premature mortality integrating lifestyle, cognitive function, and molecular aging biomarkers” within the SUN cohort. Daniel Wang, MD, ScD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Assistant Professor in the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Associate Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. He leads multiple NIH-funded projects and co-directs a Human Virome Characterization Center within the NIH Human Virome Program. His research integrates nutrition, multi-omics, and epidemiology to develop precision prevention strategies for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and cardiometabolic diseases. Leveraging large-scale longitudinal cohorts, his work aims to uncover biological mechanisms and identify novel preventive approaches to support healthy aging.

His research ranges from in vitro studies of bioactivity (test tubes, cell cultures) to human trials. Dr. Visioli has a publication record of more than 400 papers and book chapters and received the 2023 FENS Award, i.e the most presgious European prize for nutrition and dietetics. He has been studying natural compounds since 1993 in a pharma-nutritional framework. Dr. Visioli discovered the biological activities of olive oil's minor constituents.

Frank B. Hu, MD, MPH, PhD, is a world-leading researcher in diet, chronic disease prevention, and healthy aging. He is the Fredrick J. Stare Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology, Chair of the Department of Nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. His pioneering work has shaped the understanding of how diet and lifestyle influence cardiometabolic diseases and healthy aging. He has published over 1,000 scientific papers and is among the top 10 most cited researchers in medicine and public health in the world (H-index 320). His research has been instrumental in advancing precision nutrition, dietary biomarkers, and global efforts to combat chronic disease. His work has significantly influenced national and international dietary guidelines, including his role on the 2015 U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. His contributions to nutrition science and policy have been recognized with numerous honors, including the Kelly West Award for Outstanding Achievement in Epidemiology by the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association’ Ancel Keys Memorial Lecturer, and a member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Heather Eliassen is Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Eliassen is co-PI of two ongoing prospective cohort studies, the Nurses’ Health Study (NHS), founded in 1976 with 121,700 women, and the Nurses’ Health Study II (NHSII), founded in 1989 with 116,400 women. She is Director of the Channing/Harvard Cohort Biorepository, which houses more than three million biospecimens from 200,000 cohort participants. Her research focuses on breast cancer, and the roles of diet, lifestyle, and underlying biology in risk and survival. She incorporates plasma biomarkers, including metabolomic profiles, hormones, and specific markers of dietary intake, as well as tumor tissue biomarkers. Dr. Eliassen is actively involved in teaching and mentoring graduate students at the Harvard Chan School. In addition, much of her time is spent working with both internal and external investigators, facilitating the use of the cohort resources.

Principal Investigator and Coordinator of the Nutrition Programme at CIBERobn, and Director of the Catalan Nutrition Centre (CCNIEC). His research focuses on clinical trials evaluating the effects of diet on obesity, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular disease. He leads the large PREDIMED and PREDIMED-Plus studies and is PI of the CORALS and LEDFERTYL cohorts. Through these projects, his group has developed expertise in precision nutrition and medicine, applying metabolomics, proteomics, and metagenomics in epidemiological and clinical research. Author of over 750 papers (H-index 101), he is recognized among the world’s most influential researchers.

Her activities focus on cardio-metabolic diseases, atherosclerosis, and ischemic heart disease. She has published over 725 articles in highly qualified journals that include from guidelines on medical practice to basic science, and clinical and translational research. Her work has been highly cited (citations: >80,000; H: 110) in the scientific literature. She has written more of 250 book chapters. Mary Yannakoulia is a Professor of Nutrition and Eating Behaviour in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Harokopio University in Athens, Greece. Her research focuses on factors influencing human eating behaviour, adherence to diet and lifestyle interventions, as well as the relationship between diet particularly the Mediterranean diet and its components), aging, and cognitive decline. Dr Yannakoulia has served as a co-investigator responsible for nutritional assessment in the HELIAD and ALBION prospective studies, both of which examine associations between diet and cognitive decline or related biomarkers. She is also leading the nutrition component of the GINGER intervention, a multidomain dementia-prevention trial conducted in Greece.

His research focuses on cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes and cognitive decline, based mostly in the large ongoing Harvard cohort studies. Dr. Miguel Ángel Álvarez de Mon earned his Medical Degree from the University of Navarra and completed his specialization in Psychiatry at Clínica Universidad de Navarra. In 2019, he defended his PhD at the University of Alcalá, receiving the highest distinction of Cum Laude. He further advanced his training through research fellowships at Emory University and Harvard University.

He currently works as a psychiatrist at Hospital Universitario Infanta Leonor and serves as an Associate Professor at the Complutense University of Madrid. He is the author of 147 scientific articles published in national and international journals and has supervised six doctoral theses to date.

Dr. Álvarez de Mon received the Extraordinary PhD Award from the University of Alcalá (2020), the Spanish Society of Psychiatry Award for the Best PhD Dissertation (2018–2019), and the Emerging Researcher Award from the Research Excellence Program of the Spanish Society of Psychiatry (2021). Dr Pietro Ferrari is the Head of the Nutrition and Metabolism Branch at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France. He is the co-PI of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) study. His research covers aspects related to Nutritional Epidemiology, including the coordination of epidemiological investigations in multi-center studies, the assessment of the associations between dietary and other lifestyle factors and the risk of cancer. He worked on the development of ad hoc methodology for the analysis of complex sets of data involving lifestyle and molecular data in the investigation of cancer aetiology.

Recognized as one of the world’s most influential scientists by Clarivate Analytics (2017–2021), she has an H-index of 107 (Scopus) and has received numerous prestigious awards in recognition of her scientific excellence.

Internationally renowned for her research on polyphenols and other bioactive compounds, Dr. Lamuela Raventós leads the Polyphenol Research Group at the University of Barcelona. She has served as Principal Investigator in more than 50 national and international research projects, making major contributions to the understanding of dietary bioactive compounds and their effects on human health.

Her research has pioneered cutting-edge methodologies for the precise and comprehensive characterization of complex mixtures of bioactive compounds, integrating advanced omics approaches, including metabolomics and lipidomics. She has also led innovative research on the effects of cooking on bioactive compounds, as well as on the role of these molecules in cardiovascular health and the microbiota–brain axis. Her work has significantly advanced knowledge at the interface of nutrition, neuroscience, and systems biology.

In 1995, he obtained his PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Zaragoza (Spain). He has extensive experience in the academic and research fields of Agricultural Economics, having held several positions of responsibility at the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia, including Head of the Department of Agricultural and Food Economics and Professor of Agricultural Economics. He has collaborated with many international academic and research institutions on various projects and networks and has published extensively at both national and international levels. In addition, he has international experience as a visiting professor, consultant, and expert in project evaluation, as well as in the organization of numerous scientific and professional seminars, conferences, and training activities. He has conducted applied research funded by relevant agencies. His involvement in the Ministry of Agriculture has provided him with the opportunity to become familiar with the development of regulatory and policy frameworks aimed at encouraging investment in the agricultural sector. He also has solid experience in managing public investment portfolios dedicated to enhancing agricultural development and in working and collaborating with international funding agencies and institutions such as the World Bank, FAO, IFAD, the African Development Bank (AfDB), GIZ, the Islamic Development Bank, AFD, and others.
